Voters approved the sale of pot for recreational use, but they may now have to wait six months longer.
We will have to wait and see what the real effect of this change will be. But we know it supports the increased use of cannabis by minors and the illegal market. We know it delays the and arrests the growth of a thriving retail market as well. Any delay of the legal Boston market is of course support for the illegal market and encourages youth use and access. Politicians should get on board before they make an even bigger mess. Voters of Massachusetts were very clear in their long battle for legality. Continued efforts by Governor Baker or anyone else are efforts that work against the safety and stability of our communities.
